Sensitivity of river ecological baseflow to climate change in arid areas

چکیده

River ecological baseflow is key to river ecosystem health and stability has become particularly important with global climate change aggravation. By considering the Niya Basin in Xinjiang, based on meteorological data from 1958 2021 hydrological 1978 2018, Tennant method was determined be best basin calculation method, M–K test used analyze abrupt characteristics, regression response sensitivity coefficient models concerning were established. The results showed that 75% of ranged 15 31 m 3 •s −1 1978–2018, average annual temperature increased by 1.6°C at a 0.22°C•(10a) rate, precipitation 6.3 mm 0.98 mm•(10a) rate. prediction accuracy model good, R 2 exceeded 0.7, lagged, greatly impacted baseflow. decreasing trend upstream downstream, maximum value 2010, minimum 1984, monthly April November. Based social water use basin, protection targets measures proposed according season period for actual resource management scheduling this similar regions.

Spatial dynamics of Phlebotomus sand-fly ecological condition in response to climate change

Background: Changing the climatic pattern can lead to major changes in the geographical distribution of infectious diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of climate change on the favorable bio-climatological zone for leishmaniasis sand-fly living which is a vector of Leishmania in Iran. Materials and Methods: Data of the climatic factors affecting the biology of sandflies...

Coupled modeling approach to assess climate change impacts on groundwater recharge and adaptation in arid areas

The effect of future climate scenarios on surface and groundwater resources was simulated using a modeling approach for an artificial recharge area in arid southern Iran. Future climate data for the periods of 2010–2030 and 2030–2050 were acquired from the Canadian Global Coupled Model (CGCM 3.1) for scenarios A1B, A2, and B1. These scenarios were adapted to the studied region using the delta-c...

Impact of climate change on streamflow in the arid Shiyang River Basin of northwest China

Climate change may significantly affect the hydrological cycle and water resource management, especially in arid and semi-arid regions. In this paper, output from the Providing Regional Climates for Impacts Studies (PRECIS) regional climate model were used in conjunction with the Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) to analyse the effects of climate change on streamflow of the Xiying and Zamu ...

Impacts of climate change on extreme precipitation events in arid (Bandar Abbas) and semi-arid (Shahrekord) stations in Iran

The aim of this paper is to project extreme precipitation events in an arid and a semiarid station. In order to project climate change based on general circulation models (GCMs), we have applied LARS-WG[1] downscaling tool. This stochastic weather generator down-scaled the climate of two synoptic stations using HADCM3 model and A2 emission scenario for 2040. We extracted extreme precipitation e...

Sensitivity of Surface Runoff to Drought and Climate Change: Application for Shared River Basins

This study quantifies the sensitivity of surface runoff to drought and climate change in the Diyala watershed shared between Iraq and Iran. This was achieved through a combined use of a wide range of changes in the amount of precipitation (a decline between 0% and −40%) and in the potential evapotranspiration rate (an increase between 0% and +30%). The Medbasin-monthly rainfall-runoff model (Me...
